On April 21st, 2026, Ari Lennox brought the Vacancy Tour to the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona. This show was filled with moments that were unforgettable as a fan of the artist and a photographer/reviewer. Lennox’s ability to light up the whole room with a single smile was visible all night long.

To start the night, Lekan and PHABO curated a perfect R&B vibe that would continue for the whole night. Both artists opened up for Ari Lennox and were received incredibly well by the audience! Both artists made sure to make their mark on the stage and made a true fan out of me. These opening sets did a great job of starting one after another, which kept the rhythm and excitement building for the headlining set.

When Ari Lennox came to the stage, the crowd went absolutely wild. Instant tears were seen in the Marquee Theatre, with Lennox beginning her performance by singing “Mobbin in DC”. The stage looked like a motel lobby, perfectly fitting the theme of the album. Songs of reflection, self-care, and yearning would follow the performance. Most beautifully of all, the artist was just as in tune as the crowd. If an audience member told Lennox they loved her, she would respond that she loved them. If someone said she was beautiful, she told them they were beautiful back. It was a level of intimacy that made this performance feel safe, as if we were watching an old friend who finally made it. Lennox continued her performance by singing hits such as “Vacancy”, “New Apartment”, and “Shea Butter Baby”. Every song felt like a letter to herself and a way for Lennox to heal, which seemed to have healed the audience in turn.

This performance was truly out of this world. Creating such an intimate performance and showing such care for the people in front of you is not as common as it should be in this industry. Even the air in the Marquee felt comforting, which I have never experienced. PHABO, Lekan, and Ari Lennox all came together to create a perfectly curated night that will remain in the audience’s hearts for years to come.
