Under the stars and towering red rocks, Train brought 25 years of Drops of Jupiter to life at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. With Matt Nathanson and Barenaked Ladies warming up the crowd, the night was a nostalgic celebration of songs that have stayed with us for generations.

Three beautifully different shades of soul came to Phoenix. From The Womack Sisters’ shimmering harmonies to LA LOM’s mesmerizing instrumentals and Thee Sacred Souls turned the crowd into one warm communal. Behind the camera, I found myself photographing all the little moments of connection happening between the songs.

Tame Impala dipped Phoenix into a technicolor daydream. Along for the ride on the Deadbeat Tour was psychedelic soundscapes with dancing lasers, glowing lights, and a storm of colorful confetti. From Kevin Parker's intimate B-stage loops to a room losing itself in “The Less I Know the Better,” the entire night was magic constantly spinning.

MUNA brought the seductive, unruly world of Dancing On The Wall to Phoenix. Beneath the sweat, screaming, and feral energy tenderness. With Naomi McPherson absent, the band and crowd held her with remarkable care. The night was a deeply emotional celebration to the family behind MUNA.

Melanie Martinez brought the dark mythology of HADES to Phoenix, filling the night with fire, fantasy and a little beautiful grotesquerie. I watched an audience completely surrender themselves to the world she built. Every scream, costume and candlelight fit in as another piece of the story.

São Paulo turned up the volume as Emmercia and Bullet Bane tore through Fabrique Club with crushing riffs, soaring vocals, and a crowd that refused to stand still. From Emmercia’s first show of the year to Bullet Bane’s new era, surprise guests, circle pits, and a thunderous singalong to “Uma Vida” made a celebration of everything Brazilian hardcore does best.

✰ Black Honey

At Village Underground, the contrast of being in the shadows of beauty and menace came alive. Surf-rock, sunshine dissolved into dissociative dream-pop darkness, and the crowd sang every word. We witnessed inflatable flamingos while feeling the intimate, yet explosive and utterly assured performance.
